They sat down with us to explain the benefits of working in a smaller company and why it鈥檚 not a case of 鈥渙ne size fits all.鈥

We met David and Campbell down a narrow alleyway outside the trendy Bowery to Williamsburg caf茅 on Olivers Lane. Despite the ten-year age difference, it鈥檚 immediately apparent the two share a good rapport.

David is the Director 鈥 Investment Management at Cameron Harrison overseeing the delivery of the Cameron Harrison Investment Management Program across multiple asset classes; including international and domestic equities, fixed income and listed property.

Campbell is a Senior Analyst in charge of managing investment strategy, wealth strategy and advises on areas such as estate planning and self-managed superfunds.

鈥淚 am the investment management side, the selection side and the ongoing monitoring, and Campbell is predominately on the client services side,鈥 explains David.

David studied a Bachelor of Commerce and Engineering at the University of Melbourne. After university, he worked as an engineer at Rio Tinto and as a consultant at Energetics Pty Ltd.

He then moved to London to pursue a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Cambridge before working as a senior consultant at CRU Consulting.

In 2014, he returned to Melbourne and was recruited as an investment manager at Cameron Harrison before later becoming a director.

Campbell completed his Bachelor of Commerce and Diploma of Languages (Spanish) at the University of Melbourne at the end of 2015.

鈥淚 went travelling for a few months after I graduated and started working a few days after I got home,鈥 says Campbell. 鈥淚t鈥檚 my first job and I鈥檝e been here over two years and the time has absolutely flown by.鈥

Campbell loves the diversity and culture that comes with working at Cameron Harrison and working alongside friendly and inclusive people.

David and Campbell met their partners at Trinity and maintain a strong connection to the College often returning for reunions and events.

In 2014, David married Heile Clark (TC 2003) and the pair now have a young child, while Campbell鈥檚 partner is Ella Beckingsale (TC 2012).

鈥淢y Trinity experience was pretty fantastic to be honest. I spent three years at Trinity and I had a great time. I was on various clubs and societies, which are still running today鈥 I made a lot of close friends and they鈥檙e still my best friends today,鈥 says Campbell.

鈥淚 met some fantastic people and a lot of experiences that have held me in good stead for the next step in my life. It鈥檚 a great halfway house between living with your parents and attending high school, and then transitioning to the start of your career in the real world,鈥 adds David.

With the shared experiences of residing at Trinity and studying at the University of Melbourne, both David and Campbell recognise the benefit of making their graduate and internship roles available for Trinity students.

鈥淭rinity students have a maturity and level of independence that comes from harmoniously living in a shared environment with a diverse group of students. These are some of the acquired skills that we are looking for at Cameron Harrison,鈥 says David.
